The The is an English alternative rock group formed in since 1979, with singer/songwriter Matt Johnson being the only constant band member. The band has had a revolving line-up and has included Johnny Marr, Peter Ashworth, Keith Laws, David Palmer, D.C. Collard, and Eric Schermerhorn. The The have also had many guest vocalists and contributors to their albums including Nenah Cherry, Sinead O'Conner, Jules Holland and Marc Almond.
