Matau Records Vinyl Tune of the Day - "Enjoy the Silence" by Depeche Mode

"Enjoy the Silence" was released as a vinyl single on 12" and 7" vinyl format in February 1990. It was the second single from Depeche Mode's seventh studio album Violator and was released on Mute Records. On the B side of the single were two instrumental songs "Memphisto" and "Sibeling". The album Violator turned Depeche Mode into an globally popular band and a remastered deluxe vinyl version of the album was released in 2007.

Depeche Mode are an English electronic band formed in 1980. The band's original line-up was made up of Dave Gahan (lead vocals, songwriter), Martin Gore (keyboards, guitar, vocals, songwriter), Andy Fletcher (keyboards), and Vince Clarke (keyboards, songwriter). Depeche Mode released their debut record in 1981 and Clarke left the band after the albums release, with Alan Wilder (keyboards, drums) joining the group in 1982 to replace him. Initially Influenced by The Cure and OMD Depeche Mode have become one of the most succesful electronic bands of all time.
